Everyone talks about Amal Clooney, although she is not an actress, model or a reality show star. Amal is a lawyer who defends human rights and tries to be useful to those who need it. Moreover she is the wife of actor George Clooney. What else do we know about her?
Amal Alamuddin was born on February 3, 1978. The girl was only two years old when she left Lebanon, engulfed in the flames of war and moved to London with her family. She studied at the most prestigious educational institutions in the UK. After school, she became a college student at Oxford University, and after graduating, she entered New York University.
Amal’s father, Ramzi Alamuddin, has an MBA degree at the American University of Beirut and is the owner of a travel agency.
Bariaa Miknass, the mother of Amal, works as the editor of the Pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat. She is also the founder of the International Communication Experts public relations company.
Amal has a younger sister, Tala Alamuddin who is a designer. She is married to Nagi Hamiyeh, a businessman from Singapore. Tala is a mother and has a daughter, Mia. Alamuddin can be truly called a style icon as she decided to devote her life to beauty and glam and launched the fashion line Totally Tala.
What about Amal’s personal life?
She already had a reputation as a successful lawyer when a mutual friend introduced her to Hollywood actor George Clooney. They first met on Lake Como, Italy, during dinner. By the way, George’s parents were also present there. The couple began to communicate via emails. They talked mainly about what was happening in each other’s life, shared their thoughts, and after a while became more than just friends.
In October 2013, George invited Amal on the first date. In February 2014, Clooney decided that he will definitely marry her. He made his proposal at dinner. Clooney waited for more than 20 minutes unless he heard Amal’s answer. The two got married in Venice, Italy, in September 2014. Amal’s wedding dress was the last creation of the late Oscar de la Renta.
In 2017, it became known that Amal was pregnant and in June 2017 twins were born. A 56-years old George and his wife became parents for the first time.
The boy was born at 12:54 and named Alexander. Amal says he looks a lot like George.
The girl was named Ella. She was born two minutes later, at 12:56. In turn, the happy father believes that his daughter is completely similar to her mother.
Amal and George carefully protect their children from unnecessary attention. Paparazzi only once managed to legally take a photo of Amal with the kids when she left the Four Seasons Hotel in New York in December 2018. By the age of three, Alexander and Ella had already formed gastronomic preferences: they love Italian cuisine, especially risotto, Margarita pizza, and raspberry ricotta.
