Ever since the call for a new actor to fill the joker role popped up, fans rushed to request that Depp be the one who takes the role. Right after this news was released, there were fans who wanted to see Depp on stage already as the new joker. There even was a concept design from an Instagram user who took the time to show Johnny Depp stepping into the role of the new joker. This means that he would go head to head with Robert Pattinson in a sequel to the Batman series. The fan used a picture from the fantastic beasts’ sequel, where Johnny Depp’s character is addressing the wizard community. However, Depp still looks slightly different in the Instagram post than he had appeared to look in the fantastic beasts’ movie. The Instagram user went on to dress Johnny Depp as the joker and the good news is, the actor definitely looks the part.
It would be interesting to see how Bruce Wayne will adapt the villain for his screen vision of Gotham city but many think that this is the type of twist the batman series needs. The fan behind the photo captioned the Instagram post as:
”Johnny Depp as the joker. Here’s a little throwback and a revisit of this concept I did of Johnny Depp’s Grindlewald turned into Joker. Sad to hear that he’ll no longer be appearing in Fantastic Beasts 3, hope Warner bros gives him another chance in the future.”
This means that many fans want Depp to star in the upcoming Batman sequel as they think he would be a perfect fit. However the plot of Batman is being kept under wraps but the one thing that we do know is that the film is set to cast Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, specifically batman during his second year as Gotham city’s star night. Robert Pattinson will show off his heroism using his multiple detecting skills more than ever seen in any other version of the character. It is also expected to be the first instalment in a new trilogy of films starring Pattinson. The director, Max Reeves, is bringing to life the script which he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin.
Robert Pattinson has played many roles in the past. The Batman sequel is expected in movie theaters in March of 2024. However, what remains a mystery to most of us is whether Johnny Depp will in fact play the joker in this new DC films project. Unfortunately, it seems that Warner bros is still eyeing other actors for this role but despite everything, Johnny Depp remains at the top of the list. Johnny Depp is so over the moon right now for being considered for the part as this may be a sign that all the blows his career is facing right now might finally be over.
The long and exhausting court trial between him and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, has been responsible for the damage in his career. However, the release of an audio some months ago has gone to prove that Johnny Depp is indeed innocent. Given Depp’s previous performances in many movies, it just seems that stepping into the role of the joker would be a perfect fit for him and it would be a smooth transition back into his acting career.
Although, there was a close scenario back in suicide squad but aside from that, there has been no such scene since the dark night rises. Many believe that it is about time that the two are brought together and that the perfect man for the role of joker would be none other than Johnny Depp to go against Robert Pattinson, playing batman. While talks with Warner bros have been stopped, he may resume if he wins trial and thinks it could get him an Oscar.
Depp really believes that the key role that will earn him an academy award is playing the joker. Winning an Oscar for his role will help Johnny Depp to recover quickly from this entire mess he is in right now. And because the film will not debut until March of 2024, there is still much time to decide whether Johnny Depp will get this role.
