Spotlight on: Brad Pitt’s carefully curated watches – on screen, and off-screen.
Brad Pitt , actor and film producer, is an interesting mix of contradictions. He is superstar famous, but also very elusive; he is known for his versatility, as he is for his handsome face.
These are traits that are very evident in every aspect of his life – from his choice of movie roles, down to his choice of watches.
Ranging from classic Rolex watches to rare Patek Philippe timepieces, Brad’s watch collection will impress even the most discerning horologists. Here’s a peek into his collection:
Brad has been spotted with different Rolex watches throughout the decades, but his timepiece of choice nowadays is the Rolex President Day-Date.
Considered the flagship model of Rolex, the Day-Date is the perfect status symbol. Brad’s choice is a 40 mm gold model, with a black dial.
He has also worn the Day-Date in one of his movie roles. As Rusty Ryan in Ocean’s Twelve, he wore a 36 mm glacier dial platinum construction Rolex Day-Date.
Another Rolex spotted on Brad is the Rolex GMT-Master II in 18k yellow gold. He returned as Rusty Ryan in Ocean’s Thirteen, this time wearing the GMT-Master II. The watch is believed to be from his own collection.
Aside from Rolex, Patek Philippe figures prominently in Brad’s watch collection. He wears several different models in real life, and in his films.
One of his favorites is the Patek Philippe Nautilus reference 5711. The luxury sports watch has a grey-blue dial that resembles teak wood boat decks – matched perfectly with a stainless steel case and bracelet.
One of his more luxurious watches is the Patek Philippe Complications Annual Calendar reference 5205R. The watch effortlessly combines an annual calendar and moonphase on its dial, while the warmth of rose gold complements the black bracelet.
Brad has also worn a vintage Patek Philippe Ellipse in his movie, By the Sea. The watch comes with a white gold, mesh bracelet and a striking but elegant blue dial, that’s fitting for the 70’s era film.
Brad certainly has an eye for very rare timepieces, and his Cartier Tank a Guichet is the perfect example. The Tank a Guichet really stands out as it has no dial – only a jumping hour and wandering minute indication. The watch is reportedly a limited edition of 100 pieces.
Even before he was signed as one of the latest Breitling ambassadors, he already wore a titanium Breitling Emergency watch. It’s the world’s world’s first wristwatch with a dual frequency personal locator beacon – a potentially life-saving feature in a compact, ruggedly-handsome package.
And finally, we have his A. Lange & Sohne timepiece – the Lange 1 Time Zone in honey gold. Produced only in 100 pieces, the watch was created to celebrate the 22-year anniversary of the first Lange collection of the company’s modern era.
There you have it. Brad Pitt’s collection of classic and eccentric watches. Which one was your favorite? Tell us in the comments section.
